Leveling kit install professionally

Just ordered 2.5" AS leveling from ebay and was curious about how much labor it'll be for my 04 4x4 to have it done professionally? And will I need to get an alignment afterwords?

Can't wait for them to get here. I'll be sure to post pics

Thanks guys!

i got two quotes for my 98 and they were both over $500 which is a total waste. i did mine myself and it wasnt very hard at all and was no where near worth the 500 to get it done somewhere. just took it to get aligned afterwards.

If you have the tools and space do it yourself. All you need is a jack, 2 jack stands, a breaker bar, socket wrench and a few sockets. Save a good bit of money and get the satisfaction of doing it yourself. Yes you will need an alignment afterward.

yea make sure you check what size sockets you need first. when i did mine i didnt have a 21mm long socket and taking the top shock bolt out was a pain after it had accumulated dirt over 11 yrs. went and got the socket and on the second side it was so much easier.
you may also need a tie rod fork to help loosen your ball joints incase they dont come out on their own. they are like 10 bucks at autozone

Ya, If you got the tools ( or get them) do it your self. I`ve done a few and have it down to 45 min`s.

And yes your going to need an alignment.

I would just call around and if you cant find anyone to do it lower than $150 then its not worth it. Its really alot easier than you think to do it your self, I used this write up it helps alot.

As far as tools go, the bolt that connects the lower control arm to the coilover needs to be torqed to 225ftlbs. Luckly my Dad has a torque wrench that goes to 600ftlbs (overkill). No idea what one cost but if you want to get to specs it could cost a bit. I know a craftsman torque wrench that goes to 150ftlbs is around $100. You could always tighten the %&#*#&#& out of it and say good enough.

Just installed my AS 2.5" kit tonight. Never tackled anything like this, but followed the steps in the How To section (link shown above). With help of son-in-law and his friend, entire job took us 1 hour and 5 minutes. Not to bad, for the first time. Checked the actual level and brought my front in up 3 inches. Front is now 1/8 of inch lower than rear. Taking to have aligned in the morning, but already love the look. Will post a pic or two soon.

Just got my 2.5 AS kit in the mail today. My only question is on the offset of them...are they idiot proof in the way they install? Wanted to make sure I had the offset pointed in the right direction, etc.

Yep, they will only go on one way, also left and right side are universal so it does not matter which side each one goes on.

My quote was a kit, alignment, and labor for $300. How does that sound?

This question really depends on the part of the country you live in. My leveling kit was installed professionally for $60 labor and $50 for the alignment. These are Oregon prices.
