i just put in a aal in 08 screw and cant seem to get the d---m spring align clamp to close back up tried big a-- clamp channel locks i got close but needs to come alot clocer together i was thinking useing a rose bud but didnt want to screw the plastic clips i dont think they will shift because the u bolts will stop them and center bolt will to any solutions to this problem try to save a buck and there is always one little thing that doesnt go perfectly thanks
Others who have done the install have used a mini sledge to pound it back in place and some have heated it with a torch before doing so.

You need to know that it makes you ride a LOT stiffer. I didn't install mine, too lazy. Spent the $100 and let 4 Wheel Parts do it.
It really does? If you could do it again would you put a bigger block or stick with the AAL?

I would recommend an AAL over blocks if you haul or tow. I had 2500lbs in the bed last weekend and the truck handled it very well. Before the AAL with similar loads I was very close to the bumpstops. This time I had at least 6" more to go before bottoming out.
If you go AAL, just make sure it is a long leaf. Don't get the short versions that goes just above the overload spring. Shorter AAL's do make a much stiffer ride.
I personally disagree with this. Do you have a long or short AAL? My long Procomp barely changed the ride. It is a little firmer, but honestly I think it rides better now. The rear doesn't squat so much on big bumps anymore and feels alot more stable. My Bilsteins are probably helping that a little too though.
