Pretty sure it won't work. Contact Fabtech directly and ask:

http://www.fabtechmotorsports.com/html/ask_us.html

2wd will have completely different parts. With your front differential (4x4) you will need all sorts of different brackets and whatnot to drop the front diff down and relocate stuff to make it work. Might be possible to get the kit but I think it is going to be more of a hassle than it is worth.

EDIT: Or get it for free - sell it on craigslist/eBay and take the money you get and buy a kit for your 4x4!!!

I saw that ad. That guy has been trying to sell stuff off his truck for a while on CL.

I don't think the kit will work on a 4wd, but call fabtech.

I'd like to get a hold of that kit too considering I have everything needed for the swap minus the u bolts and nuts sitting in my garage.

i wish i could just buy it and re-sell it. the problem is, he wants to do a swap... so he would take all of my stuff, for his 6 in.
honestly, i wouldnt mind if it was the minor stuff that didnt work.. all i could think of that would be different is the differential in the front..otherwise, a 2wd and a 4wd are the same exact truck when there isnt and suspension.... arent they?

It won't work. Look at the spindles. There is the a hole in the middle of the 4wd one for the CV. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

you are completely, 100% correct.. the spindles are what differentiate between the two kits.... i've talked to 4wheel parts AND 2 fabtech reps.. all said it would not work for that very reason.. and that the spindles are the most expensive part of the lift... BUMMER.. Oh well guess ill just have to wait a couple more months...
thanks anyways for the help guys

Hey There,

I'm new here (just registered after i found this thread), and I'm wondering if the kits would work in reverse? What I mean is, would a 4x4 kit work on a 2x4 truck. I have a 2000 2x4 F150, and 4Wheel Parts has a 4 inch lift kit made my Rancho that only comes in 4x4. Could this possibly work on my 2x4 truck? This would really be convenient for me, as i plan on converting it to 4x4 in the future.

Thanks in advance,

Scruffy
