I have an 05' F-150 XLT Supercrew and i was thinking of putting some rear shackles on it to lower the back end, would that work?

Several different companies offer them, check Summit Racing, they offer several of those available including their own. I'll probably do this mod to mine also.

Pretty easy with the right tools. Jack up the truck just enough to take the weight off the leafs, put jackstands under the truck for safety, and remove/replace the shackles. Just make sure the leafs are not under any load and it's a piece of cake.
