body lift/ tires
hey guys, i have a 02 f150 2wd, and i was wondering how big of tires could i get with a 3" body lift. with bigger tires am i going to need to get my speedomator recalibrated? also would the body lift correct the infamous ford dive on the truck? thanks.
I'm not sure about the biggest tire you can run but if you run bigger tires you will need to have your speedo calibrated if you want it to read right. And no it won't correct the rake. You need to add a leveling kit for the front to do that.
I wouldn't say "mess it up" but it will affect it. How much affect you actually feel depends on your powertrain. For instance if you have a V6 and tall gears you are gonna feel it more than if you have a 5.4 and lower gears.

A 4.6 should be fine with 33's unless you do a lot extremely heavy towing/hauling.
I've seen members report body lift installation prices anywhere from $100 to $1000. But around $500 seems to be average for a 97-03 truck. It's not hard but it's time consuming which is why labor cost is so high. Body lifts are a great value if you can install them yourself.

the 4.6 can handle 35's, but like wandell said dont plan on any major towing. i got a newer 4.6 w/ 35's 3.73, a tuner and intake the tuner helped alot and fixed my speedometer, but i still dont expect to tow thru the mountains, will probly need to use dad or sisters trucks for major towing
I think it looks fine. Here's a link to my gallary at FTW.
