Installed 6" lift transmission leaking
Looks like I overlooked the need for a driveshaft spacer. The shaft is pulled out of trans and is leaking some fluid. How hazardous is this for the time being? It sounds like a 1" spacer and this will solve my problem? I will do some more searching... but if i could get a quick answer that would be very appreciated.
What lift did you install? I'm in the middle of installing the Fabtech 6" on my 2006 and the kit came with a rear spacer!
A few things were missing from my kit so I'd be wondering if you just didn't get yours! But I'm not sure about other kits!

6" procomp with the 2 1/2" aluminum rear blocks on top of the existing ones. My kit did NOT come with a spacer for the driveshaft!
sounds like I either need a spacer or have it professionally extended from what i gather.
I'm just not happy with the whole look of the situation tho and am hesitant to be driving it around to and from work!

Was your transmission leaking before you put the spacer in? and if so... did it stop afterwards?
I am trying to determine if i need to replace the bushing and or seal to solve the leak. not sure if either or both are damaged. Input appreciated.
as for the stacked blocks... there doesnt seem to be anything unsafe about them... compressed between the axle and the weight of the truck, and then bound in by 2 U bolts... not much different than the stock set up to be honest.
eventually down the road I'll probably change out to a single block... but i have other issues to deal with for now.

I have the 6" Pro Comp on my truck, but the only problem I have is the darn rear squat. The front is much higher than the rear, and my aluminum blocks are under the stock blocks so the bump stops are still useable. I am considering either a new block or a Skyjacker EZ-Ride 6" spring pack. I am interested in how things go with your tranny, keep us posted.

my truck sits almost dead level with the kit. Maybe a little bit low in the rear. Maybe i'll raise it up a bit after im in the clear.

I think the only 2 tranny pieces i might need are a

seal assy ext housing.

Man I hate waiting! I've not played much with Ford trannys, but I didn't need anything special when I was working on my old Blazer or the Tahoe I sold my Mom. I used to back the rear tires up on ramps to both give me more room and keep all the fluid in the front of the transmission. Mind you you have to secure the hell out of the front tires and set the emercency brake, obviously no drive shaft means no park gear to the rear in 2WD. If for some reason this post makes no sense I just spent the afternoon on Duval St. in Key West, I'm lucky I can even type.

Would you suggest ebrake and blocks on the front tires in neutral or with 4x4 high locked in? Guess I'm trying to figure out whats the correct approach, if i am disconnecting the rear ds.

Sorry about the delayed response, I'm in the Florida Straights and we had some issues with our system. I would just block the front, e-brake the rear and keep the trucks drive train in neutral so that you have some play with the shaft rotation. Best of luck with it, let us know how it goes and snap some pics if possible.
