Will 4X4 Fornt Shocks fit 2X4?

I have a 2005 2X4 XLT w/ 100,000 miles on the original shocks/struts, will the front shocks/struts from a 4X4 work? I'm sure they'll bolt in, but will there be any draw backs? I have 2.5" leveling kit I'm going to install & thought while I'm there I should replace them.

They will fit. However, you can't combine the leveling kit with the OEM 4x4 coilovers to get like 4.5 inches of lift. Your ball joint angles would be so extreme I doubt you could even get them bolted back together. If you need new shocks, just go with some Bilstiens. They have adjustable preload setting an will allow you to lift your front end.
