Rear leaf question?

I have a 99 f150 ext. cab 4x4 that has 97k miles on it and I just noticed that it looks like the rear pass. side of the truck is sagging alittle. So now the question is what should I replace the leafs with? Someone told me to put the 7700 leafs under it? I would like to do something thewill keep the truck from sagging since I do tow alot of cars and will have motors/tran/ rearends in the bed of the truck. Now the funny thing is my fathers 02 f150crew we used alll the time before I got this truck and it hardly dropped with a motor in the bed and a car loaded up on a trailer. now my friends 01 f150 sags like no other with just a motor in it??? Any ideas on why this would happen? I thought all f150's had the same leafs besides the 7700;s?

It answers your question of why some sag and others don't because you thought all the springs were the same but looking at the link they are not the same which explains the sagging so if you go with a heavier duty spring it won't sag because you are increasing the spring capacity. So the 1900 or 2200 lb capacity springs will be stronger than yours and a good solution for you.

F150s have the same height leafs except 7700, Lightnings, Harleys, and i believe the Boss, and Nascar editions as well.

Depending on the truck there are different leaf packs that go under it. Some have 3 leafs plus overload, some have 4 or 5 leafs and an overload.

Also remember that your '99 F150 has leafs that are 3 years older and have probably seen more abuse then the leafs on your dad's 2002. So they are more worn out to begin with.

My 98 fell into the weak catagory until I helped it out a bunch...It lifted the tailend up some, the way I like it to look plus its pretty stout now for a 1/2 ton...You couldn't put nothing in the back without it sagging to the tires...
That drove me nuts!! Ford ought to be ashamed of that!!
