need some help?!?!?!?!

i was thinking about getting a leveling kit for my 2004 f150. i guess my question is what should i do? you see i pull a trailer with a little weight behind me. should i go with 2" or 2.5" level kit? i already ordered bilsteins 5100 for the truck, would this help? i dont really want the truck to squat when pulling a load, and i dont want it to look werid when i'm driving around while not working:beers:

If you ordered the Bilsteins you don't need a leveling kit because they feature adjustable spring preload allowing you to lift the front 2 inches. If you want the best setup out back, a set of airbags would be best. You can just inflate them when you tow and then deflate them when you are not.

what if i didnt want air bags? would it still squat alot? i pull a 16' enclosed trailer with the trailer it is like 6000lbs:thumbsup:

Go with an add a leaf, I have read from a few guys that there very happy with it in regards that it maintains factory ride pretty well and installation in a very easy with them.

Yep, that's another option.

i have thought about adding a leaf, sounds like thats the way to go for me. also should i still use a spacer in the front if so, which brands and why, poly or steel?

I'd go with the AutoSpring kit because it's a good kit at a good price. Honestly, a leveling kit is a pretty simple product and they are all about the same. There is no reason to pay $200 for one when an identical kit is $80.

are they metal or poly

They are metal, you can get them powder coated vs painted for only $10 more.

ok thanks, is that a 2inch or 2 1/2 ???

wandell 05-12-2009 10:48 PM

Autospring offers several sizes. 2.5 is the largest you should go.

but you dont need a leveling kit because you have the blistens, right?

I was also thinking if you go the route by adding a leaf wouldnt it give you a stiff ride in the back when your not hauling your trailer.

not sure would it?
