PC 6" going on next week

Okay, so I am trying to schedule my lift to be put on next week, but I might will have to run the stockers for about a month or so. Is this safe? The guy at the shop assured me that I could run my stockers no problem, it'd just be an issue if I tried to put bigger tires on there.

i think someone did that for a trip with stock wheels and tires and his turning radius was awful because it rubbed

No offense, but if you have to run the stockers please post some pics I'm curious as to how funny it will look. I was thinking about putting them on just for kicks.

lol... I may buy some wheel spacers.... he assured me they would fit though, lol. I know it'll be funny... but this is my only chance to lift the truck, so I figure I'd go for it now while I can and get rims/tires later.... or who knows, maybe if I can't sell my OEM 20s (which are for sale *hint hint*) I will run spacers and some M/T 35" ATZs

i hope you get some longer studs if you plan to run 1/2" spacers. i believe pro comp has a maximum of 5" backspacing for there kit, you will destroy the rims up front if you just bolt them on, the inner lip will be chewed to hell.

i would assure to if i owned a shop, then i know you are in a pickle and i can sell you some rims, sad to say that's how most places are these days. i have run spacers and i will never do it again, they wobbled because they weren't 100% flat, i machined them and they were OK but sell your rims and just buy new ones IMO. if i owned a shop, i would help persuade customers away from spacers.

I am getting it done at 4wheelparts. They had the best price. The guy told me that for spacers (I had talked to him before about just running 35s on my stock 20s with my level kit) I should check ebay and get the ones that come with new studs that are 1.5" wheel spacers (adapters) that are 6x135 to 6x135. My mechanic even said those would be good. He said he even puts them on the cars he does to fit a wider tire in there. My mechanic also said that years ago, spacers were crappy and he would never recommend them or put them on anything, but that since then, they have changed for the better and he said I should be fine with those.

Im not sure if those are the ones you ran - I hope not, cause that would sorta bust my bubble. But I definitely don't want to do something that will destroy my truck (or my rims for that matter).

ok so if you put them on the front, the front tires are gonna stick out like 3 inches more on the front than the back, added track with plus spacer, gonna be real noticable on stock rims. i will NEVER run adapters on any vehicle, i had them on my foreman and i bought good ones and i shattered 1 of them, live and learn my friend--be safe and just buy new rims.

and i wouldn't trust anything 4WP parts, i have heard numerous horror stories about what kinda retards that work there.

I know this is not a bash 4WP thread, but on my last truck they installed my Helwig Helper springs backwards. I took it back because they were making all kinds of noise and the "manager" came out and said his guys had installed them backwards. They flipped them around and the noises went away.

They are like the Walmart of 4WD truck stores, so they have a lot of people installing parts who are just learning. I try to do more things myself these days, so I at least know how to fix what I installed.

that's funny, has anyone seen my baseball?

i just don't trust a perfect stranger working on my truck, not to mention completely tearing off all the suspension and putting it back on, maybe i'm old fashioned, but when i took my truck in for alignment, they shop said "who did you lift, looks reals good, i never seen someone mark all the fasteners with a paint pen" i replied "want it done right, do it yourself" i mark every fastener with a line after it's torqued, so you know its been torqued and after the 500 mile break in period, you can visually check and see to make sure all the fasteners have not loosened up

I've run ebay spacers on my truck within the past few months and not had a bit of wobble. I'm talking about the spacer type not the adapter type that has the studs on them. I hear paople talking trash about spacers all the time but I've read an equal amount of stuff from people who actually have them and love them with nothing bad to say at all.

I WAS running a 1/2" spacer for about a month and had plenty of thread left....I ran them just for ****s and giggles not because i needed them. Would have taken them off immediately if they weren't safe or if they caused me an ounce of problem
