A diffucult decision

Edit: Am going with procomp stage 1 or 2. Need info on backspacing for '09 factory 18" wheel. Is it 5.5"? will this work with my procomp kit? I have the oportunity to switch my 2007 20" wheels and tires with a friends 2009 wheels when he buys his new truck

I have a 4x4 (for winters), but i rarely ever take it off road - so i have been planning on the roush suspension upgrade to complement some performance upgrades - and really get the "sport truck" ball going.

However, after spending 20 minutes going over that lifted trucks post that got revived today... the 6" Lift +35" tire combo looks too nice not to debate.

2007 ext. cab

Why not do something in the middle?

Coil-overs are going to give your truck way better handling and ride than the stock spring/coil does. You can also adjust ride height to sit 2-3 inches higher than stock. Why not grab a set of coil-overs to improve ride/handling, crank them up to 2" over stock and mount a nice set of 33" tires? You'd have a nice looking truck that sits a little nicer than stock, rides better and handles better. By going with 33s, you can probably get away with not changing your gears, or at least not having as bad of effect on performance until you do change them.

ok decided. 35 inch tires for sure. still on the chopping block

4" rancho- i hear good ride quality, not too high up. how is performance and does this allow for enough wheel travel to offroad?
6" procomp - good and cheaper than fabtech.
or fabtech - best and most expensive
rough country - cheapest. I dont think i want cheap.

(I will be on the search engine while waiting for input )

No, the OEM 20's are 20x8.5 with 6.5 inches of bs. The OEM 17's and 18's are 7.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of bs.

for lift kits:
4" rancho if you want a 4" lift and dont mind paying more than a 6" for it.
6" fabtech, bds, then pro comp, Rough country

thanks for the info, are there any other legitimate 4" lifts out there? I thought there was a 4.5" one

So, are the 2009 factory 18's 5.5" backspace also?

And this would work with a fabtech/procomp/rcd or rancho?

I have a friend ready to buy a 09 and we were just thinking about trading my 20's for his 18's since it would be free for us both to get what we wanted.

thanks
