i have a 2008 f150 extended cab short bed and i got some 2 inch leveling shackles and i put them in and they rub the bed when i hit a bump never fails i hear this sound like metal to metal and makes me want to shoot myself does anyone have any sugggestions on how to fix this?

 

is it hitting the pinch welds? that is what mine did and I just cut that chunk where it was hitting and never had the problem again

 

ya they are hitting like these "fins" under the bed i am assuming they are pinch welds and your right i thought about taking a saw to a chunk of it i was just curious if anyone had the same problem buts its like they touch the weld then they pop off its like an annoying click noise when they come off the weld its driving me insane!!!

 

what i did was cut two slits on each side of the shackle, and this crap is very tough, and then tried to bend it over to one side, not very easy to do, but then I just rode like that for a while hit some harder bumps or flex a little and the shackles will bed it more out of the way or in my case broke one side off and then I cut the other part off later. then problem solved! Hope this helps

 

You can fold them over with a mallet or hammer as well.

 

Tried that and it was pretty hard so just left it and the shackles took care of the rest!
