I just want height... I would like clearance, but I don't really need it. This is what I typically do:

I typically don't have any problems with my stock pirelli atrs... so I figure the BFG KO 285s would be good

i think a skinny 37 A/T would fit with the stockers, but if you plan to play in the mud , i would just go with 35's

I thought we had talked you out of getting a bl a while back and you were going to end up going with either a 4" Rancho or have that talk w/ your dad and get a 6"? Change your mind again? Have you atleast been adding to your funds through all of this?

yes I have changed my mind... well, Im almost certain Im going with the BL... I dunno man... I really like the 4" rancho the best of all the lifts, but I only get one more inch over what I have, and I just don't have a true need for a suspension lift. I was thinking about doing the BL and dropping to a 2" level kit, or just doing the 3" BL and bilsteins set at 1" to be level (cause my truck right now sits 1 1/4" higher in the front, so with a 1" level kit - thru bilsteins - it would be 1/4" lower in the front)

but ya... you guys did talk me out of it there for a while... but for $1277 turning the key, I get 3" of lift. Or for ~ $2K turning the key with a 4" rancho... A lot of guys around my place have body lifts that look really good, and a few have suspensions...

Don't get me wrong, Im still debating it in my mind like every night I have trouble sleeping until I decide for that night what Im gonna do, lol..... Also depends on how much I can come up with this summer...

screw the body lift, so not worth it IMO especially to run 285/65/20's. back in the day when body lifts were cheap, like less than 100 bucks i'd say go for it. but now they are 400-500 for one's with gap guards and i hear the install in absolute BS. it would be a cold day in hell to bodylift a 08, you can afford a brand new truck but not a lift kit? would rather install 2 rancho lifts than 1 body lift. you can do what you want, but why do you need the height? to look better, IMO leveled and body lifted on skinny 285/65's will just look like your truck needs bigger tires. a 2.5 AS and taller block in the back makes those tires look perfect, add 3 inches ontop of that and it looks like a rollerskate.

x2 thats exactly how i feel about it. I payed roughly 200 on mine TOTAL and i had to replace a bunch of crap, like the fan shroud.

Anyway id NEVER pay anyone to install a bodylift for me, if i wasnt capable of doing it then i wouldnt even consider it. a grand for a body lift is rediculous. I love body lifts but theres no way id ever pay more than 200 for one and thats TOTAL, including anything i might have to replace that i break.

well... I will talk to the guy at the truck shop about a 6" Suspension lift... but I really don't think I will do it.... I mean, its possible I would do it if I could get it out the door for under 2K + rims/tires however much that would be, but if not, then Ill do the BL

LOL if you sell the 20's you got and buy some 35's on 17's and put the lift on yourself MAYBE you can do it for 2 grand, but i highly doubt it.
