Help with handling parts (and rear diff)
I've decided against my rancho lift(https://www.f150online.com/forums/su...ml) for one very good reason as of right now:
-----My driving sucks - the truck would be on it's side or roof by the end of the week.----- So now I'm going to go a different direction. Bigger tires to fill up the wheel wells and some handling parts to keep the truck planted a bit better: Current: 237/70/16 Wild Trac Radial LTs on factory wheels Going: 265/70/17 ATs on Eagle or AR wheels So here's my question - What company would you recommend who makes good under chassis parts for our trucks that will help with handling? I.E. Sway Bars, Strut Tower Brace, Panhard bars, Traction Springs, etc. Also as a side clip - Rear Diff: My axle code is "27" which means 3.31 open. What would you recommend for a rear t-lok of sorts? What about a slightly higher gearing like 3.55 or 3.73? |
you already have a front sway bar that does its job just fine. the endlinks suck, though. inspect them to make sure they are in working condition.
consider adding a stock rear sway bar out of a lightning for the rear. maybe you want to consider a steering stabilizer to aid with tire/wheel shimmy. the fabtech one will work w/ the stock suspension. 4.10's is about as low as i would go on stock tires. 265's are still considered stock tires. |
look at the DMR pan hard bar, it'll make a world of difference on your truck
the lightning rear sway bar would help too as would traction bars |
I should mention: It's a 2003 F-150 Supercab 4x4 5.4L

Good shocks can mean a world of difference in handling. Try Bilsteins. Also if you change the rear diff ratio, you will also have to do the front.
