Autospring AAL- need to remove clips and re-bend?

Just pulled the trigger on the autospring AAL off ebay from sprngbndr, same outfit I got my 2.5 AS from. Has anyone installed this setup? Read a bunch of different instructions, but it did not mention messing with the clips that hold the leafs in place, and I'm just wondering what the best way to accomplish that, if it is necessary. Thanks in advance!

The clips? Can you clarify?

Nothing needs to be modified or bent - at least on my 2005 it didn't.

Here's a install pdf that mentions it.

Thanks for the reply, I'm pulling a 22' travel trailer and could really use them.

I just got done installing a Pro Comp AAL in my 2001 this past weekend. The kit came with new spring clips. I just went out and took some pictures on how I installed them. My instructions did not tell me how to do it so I'm honestly not sure if I did it right. Looks like I need to hit them a bit harder with a hammer to bend the tabs a littler further. Here is what I ended up doing:

I bought the same AAL kit from ebay and it did not come with leaf clips.

if it is a short style AAL it doesnt actually go in the leaf pack therefore you dont need to open the clips or need new ones but if it is a long style AAL you have to open the clips, put it in, and bend the clips back
