What is this part called?

These photos are of behind the front passenger side wheel of my 2000 F150 4x4. I found a bolt head in my driveway and after doing some looking I figured out where it came from. I'm not sure what this part does and what it would be called. It seems like it should be a pretty straight forward repair. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It is an easy repair if the old bolt is out of there. Sometimes they can be rusted up a little and take some "persuasion" to get them out. Usually, all you need is a hammer, and to install a 9/16 wrench and socket.

Hope this helps.

Changed that thing on dads expedition. It started out loose and then it broke off after I tightened it. PITA to get the bolt out of that sleeve but I managed.

i beleive its a do-hickey or a thinga-majiger now its not gonna be cheap to fix either, your gonna need some blinker fluid and a flux capacitor just to get it outta there...now putting it back in your gonna need a sledge hammer and a blow torch you need to be careful tho you may break it that would be expensive ...if that doent work....go to a mechanic hahah jkjk i just had to say it...im tryin to be funny but ya i agree with trim and patman
