New guy, New ride.. need some help with tire size and leveling kit questions

So i just bought a 2006 supercab with the 4.6 Triton..
So far I love it! its a beautiful truck and as for basic needs, iam satisfied...

I have been looking into many options including leveling kits, Body/Suspension lifts and tire sizes.. I am considering starting with a basic leveling kit to give my truck that 4X4 look and feel.

I know that without some trimming I wont be able to put anything bigger then 33's on her after a 2.5 leveling kit..

My questions to you guys are:

If i do go with a leveling kit, which type of kit (Polyurethane or Block) should i use considering I am looking to do a 6-9 inch lift in the future?

My stock 4.6 doesnt have all the power in the world.. What size tires do you guys think my truck would be able to handle without having to make serious changes to the motor or noticing serious changes in performance?

thanks guys!!

If you install a 2 or 2.5 inch leveling kit you can fit a 35x12.50 tire using the oem wheels. They will only rub slightly on the control arms at full steering lock. I'd suggest the Autospring kit.
When you install a full suspension lift you will be able to mount those tires on a wider aftermarket wheel.

I would reccommend goin with a 2.5" Autospring kit(get on ebay for $69 shipped), and installing it yourself... its an easy install with the right tools. On the performance side of things, about any tire you go with that is bigger than factory is gonna hinder the performance of your truck. If ya wanted, you could get some custom tunes or regear. But with factory wheels, you can fit most 35x12.50 tires on there with a levelin kit. Its up to you on how big of a tire you want though.

Sorry to be the smart a** of the thread but if you wanted practical you probably wouldn't on this forum or wanting to lift you truck but since you are here and now one of us prepare to empty your wallet. There are lots of online places to get get good tires but if you are wanting a good 35 you are prob going to spend minimum of 200 a tire. Thats not to say there aren't deals out there because there are just have to watch for them. Sometimes Procomp runs a buy 3 get 1 free deal. Suggestions...4wheelparts,tirerack,ntwonline,ebay, discouttiredirect,etc...all .coms good luck and happy shopping

I have Toyo MT's and I love them. They are probaly the quitest MT you can buy and very aggresive lookin. Ive had mine on for bout 6-7 months now and rotated with every oil change and still have bout 90% tread left. They make an AT tire also. Dont know much bout them, but as for a MT the Toyo would get my vote. Try rimzoneonline.com. I ordered my wheels and tires through them and still got them cheaper shipped (85lbs a box x 4) than a local dealer.

If you want aggresive looking m/t tires I would also suggest Toyo M/T's, to me they are the best lookin M/T out there. If you want a good A/T tire I would suggest Cooper Zeon LTZ, Nitto Terra, BFG a/t. I am running the coopers and I like them alot. As for leveling I would also suggest the AS 2 or 2.5" kit.

If you want to look at the Coopers they are a Discount Tire only deal. They arent very expensive either.
