fabtech 4wd strut on 2wd?

i have a 2008 scab 2wd with a 6" fabtech lift. my pass side strut blew a seal and is leaking so i need a new one. i leave in 2 days back to iraq and everyone is saying the soonest they can get me one is in 5 days. i have a shop out here that has the 4wd struts on the shelf. now fabtech says they are completely different lengths and wont work at all. but wouldnt it just fit like a 6" with a spacer on it? which people do all the time. i dont necessarily want to go this route but again, i leave in 2 days and need to get the truck up and on the road. how bad is it to drive with a leaking strut. its probably all out of fluid now anyways. thanks in advance
chris

They bolt up the same. Seems like you might gain a little more lift out of it.
