04 2wd Screw NBS, 5" Block, Brake/Driveshaft Problems?

I have a 2004 XLT Screw 2wd with the 6" Fabtech basic lift. I'm currently using the 2" rear block that was included in the kit. I've been wanting to throw the 5" block in the rear, but had some questions about it:

1) I've heard that the parking brake cable won't reach without a special bracket. Is this true? If so, where could I source one?

2) Would there be any issues with the driveshaft by using a 5" block? If so, how would I remedy it?

Thanks!

Sean

Why do you need the back so high?

I changed a 2" to 5". When I got the 5" they install a spacer above driveshaft were it elbows down.

Was the spacer something that Fabtech sells or was it fab'd for you by the shop that did it?

Is there a way to tell if I'll need a spacer before I go to put the block in?

Fabtech says they've never installed the 5" on a 2wd.. It seems some people had parking brake cable issues and needed a spacer for the drive shaft and some people don't. I'm wondering how to tell beforehand..

It doesn't seem like it is a huge deal, I would just fab up a little bracket like Davespeed did and call it done.

I have a 2WD with a 6" Fabtech lift and the 5" lift blocks for the rear and have no issues. I'll go out and look at it in the light tomorrow and see if the shop that did the install made any modifications.

Also, will the Fabtech rear shocks that came with the 2" blocks work in the meantime until I get the longer ones?

That sounds rite . Looked under the truck looks like a rectangle pc of metal about 1/4 thick.

f22a -I`ve been running my same shock`s when blocks were replaced plus I have an additional 1,5 lift shackle to. I`ve had zero issue It`s been 2yr`s and over 50,000 miles. (Shackles were put on summer 08)

Great.. The blocks should be here later this week. I have the carrier bearing spacer and went ahead and had them send the parking brake bracket with it since it was only a couple bucks extra.

Thanks for the insights!
