Cutting springs...

Is this ok to do to stock springs? I am getting a couple of sets from a friend, and plan on using them to lower my truck another 2".

Where would I have to look to find a place to do this?

This is a controversial topic. Some say it's fine, some say it isn't. I think it's ok if you don't go crazy with it. I'm basing this on seeing Chip Foose do it on an episode of Overhaulin'.

i did it on a lot of s10 trucks years ago... use a cutting wheel and not a torch!! the heat will make them soft...it takes a few times to get it right.. just dont cut to much off first time...

Well I was planning on going another 2" drop all around. I mean if i screw them up, I wont be SOL, because I will still have the original set on the truck.

ive been cutting springs on all kinds of trucks for years...including "drop springs" from just about every manufacturer. never had a problem with them at all. as cheesepuff said, use a wheel and not the torch. about 1/2 coil should be about right.

dirtyd88 I know where's 2 sets of lightning front coils for less than $50 would be good for around 1-1.5 inches of drop right away
