Leveling Kits / Rear 1.5" ???

I want to put a leveling kit on my 06 150, and I think I will also add a 1.5" rear lift. Does anyone have an opinion on leaf spring vs. block spacers for the rear? Both are very close in price, so im lookin for pros and cons for each. Any suggestions would be helpful! I'm also wondering if anyone had done this on theirs, and if it would look bad to keep my stock tires (275/65/R18 pirelli scorpions on 20")??

I can provide links to the items im considering.

Well if you tow alot I would do the add a leaf just for the extra payload, but the aal will stiffen the ride up just a little. The tires will not look to bad

I have a Pro Comp AAL for sale if you want it. $75+ shipping. It's the long kind that will give you the softest ride but still increase height and payload.

The AAL is the smart choice if you want to increase your payload and don't want your tail to sag as much during towing. If you don't tow or haul, the block is probably the better choice. I'd go with either a 2" or 2 1/2" leveler up front and a 3" or 3 1/2" block in the rear to replace the oem 2" block.

Is the AAL used? How hard is it to install compared to the block spacer?

No the AAL is brand new. I bought it and never installed it. Partly because I live in a condo and it's been freezing for the most part for the past few months and mostly because I decided to go with an 8" Rize.

It's a little harder to install than a lift block but not much. It's more like it's just more work not harder. Doable by yourself though.

Ok well if I decide to go that way, I will probably be getting that from you. Still deciding if this is what I am doing, I would rather do a full 6" lift, but I don't think i want to spend the money anytime soon.

I'd suggest getting bigger tires if you're leveling it. The stock tires won't look bad, per say, but they will look small. They just won't fill the wheel well enough. My 33s still look small on occasion.

I was afraid of that. I just got brand new pirellis about 6000 miles ago so i hate to get rid of them, I might just have to wait until I have more money. BTW that is a bad *** truck you got there!!

I thought my 275/65/18's looked too small to begin honestly. Once I put the leveling kit on it I threw on the 35's so I never saw it leveled with the stockers.......until now. I just put the stockers back on and to be honest, it doesn't look horrible. Yeah it would definitely look a ton better with bigger tires but it's not bad. My opinion is that anything under 35's on these trucks is too small looks wise though.

Do a search and I'm sure you'll find some pictures of leveled/lifted trucks on stockers.
