I just had new gears/ring & pinions put in my rear axle about 14,xxx miles ago, and i had some god awful noise coming from it, so i took it to the guys that fixed it and they said it was chattering from the posi? They had me put some fluid crap in there that was like $15 for a bottle of it and is supposed to take care of the problem. Anyone know if that will fix it? Thanks

 

You need to be more specific than "god awful" when describing a noise concern. There are about ten different types of noises that involve a rear axle. Little more help, please. Yes, one of those involves adding friction modifier.

 

When i went around corners, its like a grinding noise.
