Rear Shackle Leveling Kit

I have an 05 2wd supercrew and want to level out the truck. I have thought about putting on the 2" longer rear shackles to level the truck. Does anyone have any pros or cons from experience. Pictures of before and after? Thanks

i did that on my 2001 and was completely unhappy. it just sat too low and didnt look right. i ended up putting the factory shackle back on, then leveling it from the front with a 2inch spacer. i cant tell u how much happier i am, and it looks SO much better now. theres my advice. its a truck bro, dont lower it :/

well, being the owner of a lifted truck, i am also biased, and say to level the front. But, shackles are very easy to change, and wont require an alignment when done.

if you level from the front, then you have the ability to get larger tires as well. either way will retain the factory ride, so its really up to what you want long term. if you ever want larger tires, then level up front. if you dont ever want larger tires and you want a quick, easy, cheap job, then you can level from the rear.

Thanks for the advice, my truck is a 2wd and don't plan on any bigger tire than I already have. I have 20" rims and 305 tires. I was going for the lowered sport truck look.

my truck is 2wd also. and i have 305/50/20 tires too and the front level makes it look better IMO. but if youre goin for the sport look the rear shackle is the way.

I have a 05 supercrew and put on Belltech 2" lowering shackles. I had some issues with shake/shimmy at about 25-30mph. I used some shims as recommended by Belltech. It helped somewhat but I still get some shake at the same speed (under normal acceleration...but not under heavy acceleration). I am happy with it and it looks good. I am not versed on how to put a photo up so if you want me to email you one I can.

I have had the Ground Force kit 2" which includes the shims for about 3 years and 70,000 miles. Never a problem and love the look.

It is not perfectly level, the rear is still slightly higher, but it's close.

yup shackles are the way to go....i got a 4x4 and still went with the shackles because i never use the truck for off road and never wanted bigger tires just got the 4x4 for the winters here because it can get bad sometimes....dropped my rear with the shackles and dropped 26s on the truck looks real good...shackles are a really inexpensive way to set your vehicle apart

Thanks for the responses and advice. I think I want to go with the shackles. Anyone have an opinion on which manufacturer is the better?
