Bashing the 3 "
you dont understand how the suspension works. you can throw 6" lift leafs in the rear and it wont effect how the front suspension geometry is.
im going to give you a quick run down. here we go.
you have an upper conrtol arm, a knuckle, a lower control arm, a cv shaft, tie rods, and some sort of coil/strut.
if you go out to your truck right now you will see your upper control arm, cv shaft and tie rods sit nice and horizontal almost at stock hieght.
when you add a spacer to the mix on top of your coil set up you now push the lower control arm towards the ground, the lower control arm is connected to the knuckle, the upper control arm is connected to the top of the knuckle, the CV shaft goes through the knuckle, you have now pushed all of them towards the ground creating an angle.
lifting the rear will not help the front at all. 3" is to much in my opinion for a leveling kit. but what do i know i think leveling kits are stupid and should have there own forums where people can post around asking tire fitament sizes and what metal puck is the best or how it impoved thier ride by themselves. but thats just me.
sorry for the small rant.
thats how suspensions work on our trucks. my .02 cents is go buy a lift kit.

i would like to see some pics when you get it installed.... i bet your cv and ball joint angles will be ugly.... plus, your brake lines wont have very much slack (if any).
hey eff one fifty.... which part if Il are you in? i have to go to Great Lakes this weekend for a 2 week training school..... not sure where your at, but if your close i would love to see your truck.... id like to see what the 8"/37 set up looks compared to my 6"/35's.

yeah im a jack *** because i told you how your suspension works on your truck and that leveling kits are stupid.
all you have to do is SEARCH. there should be at least 2-3 thread per page in this section about leveling kits yet ever single person insists on posting a new thread worrying about your ball joint angles and what not. if you have another bad *** 4wheeler you should know a thing or two about suspension and shouldnt need to ask a mechanic about a leveling kit or some jackasses like myself on forums.
if you cant take some critisizm dont come onto public forums. or just search pal.
Im in chicago, on the south side. shoot me a PM ill give you my number, give me a call when your in town and we will see if we can meet up, my names Matt by the way.

Eff one fifty is right about what it does to ur front suspension... but the mechanics that i spoke w/ about mine said it should fine as long as im not doin some serious stuff...

you ask for help and your gonna call the guy a jackass. he explained in great detail how it works which is what you asked for. and then put in his input on why he doesn't like them. if your gonna call anyone a jackass go look in the mirror cuz a simple search would of come up with probly hundreds of results. im not trying to be a ****, but he answered your question in much more detail than probly anyone on this site would have and you sounded very unappreciative just because he doesn't like leveling kits. well guess what, neither do i. my dad and sisters trucks ride quality went to **** IMO after they had their 2 1/2" installed

i get tired of bullsh*t threads like these too. newbies come on here bashing members who actually know what they are talking about because the members won't tell the newbies what they want to hear. rather, they get the factual truth. it is fact that leveling kits put your front suspension at a strain due to the angles. it is fact that 3'' is too much lift on an independent front w/o drop down brackets.
my personal experiences echo what is fact. when i ran my torsion bars cranked up all the way on my 03, i split cv boots on both axles just doing some semi-rough pavement pounding. since installing a suspension lift that retained the factory geometry, my ride, my angles, have been returned to acceptable, and my cv shafts stopped splitting boots.
if you're too cheap to purchase a suspension lift, don't bitch about the consequences you will face from 3'' leveling kits, even from merely on-road driving. a suspension lift is far superior to any leveling kit or body lift for many reasons, including, true lift, truer ground clearance, increased suspension travel, increased track width, retention of stock suspension geometry, etc. to sum it up, in my opinion, as well as many other experienced members, the only proper way to raise the suspension on an independent front end is to bolt on a subframe, drop down the front differential, as well as all of the other components to compensate for the lift.
