First off, welcome. I've posted a thread about this a little further down on this Forum actually. No more than 2.5" is really recommended. But there are some 3" guys around here

with a 2wd i guess a 3" won't be to big of deal, just plan to replace ball joints alot sooner than a truck without a spacer. if you do do a 3" i would add a small block in the rear to keep the truck level.

a 2- 2 1/2" will make you truck sit level and not put as much stress on front end parts.

I would stay away from the 3". I have the 2" on my 2wd and my balljoints were shot after 10 months (may just be a coincidence but i doubt it). You can still fit 33" tires with the 2". You can see how it looks in my pics.

i have a 3" on a 4x4. No problems to report here... I don't see any problem with it on a 2wd, and DIHLON, I would say that's coincidence... I've had my 3" on for 10 months and used the 4wd a lot, and no issues... I dunno, but that's my opinion anyways. But just to let you know I will probly be downsizing the level kit (just so I don't rip the CV boots apart) - probly down to a 1.5 or 2" and then doing a Body Lift w/ 35's

A 305/70-17 is basically a 34x12.50 tire and a 305/70-18 is a 35x12.50 tire. I'd stick with a 33 inch tall tire like a 285/65-18 (33x11.50) or a 305/65-17 (33x12.50).
