Screwed up something in the front end ?
Hey Brew,
Why would you throw Monroe's on as a quick fix and not a permanent fix.
I had my rear's done by a company who specializes in commercial suspension but will do full-sized trucks (like ours). Here's the kicker, my friend at the local dealership sent me to the company, to have my leafs, torn down, cleaned, rebushed, new plastic-disc's and rebanded. The bonus is they recommend the best shock for my truck and had them in stock. I called Paul at the dealership and he said I couldn't do much better with those shocks in his opinion.
Funny thing is I just called them recently to have my fronts done and they are recommending the Monroe Gas Magnums for the front as well. A bit more money but it definately changed the way my truck rode. I'm looking forward to my Monroe's going in.

Monroes are good, just not crazy about the looks, -picky. I love the ride of the Bilsteins and their just as good and Monroes, if not better. You know how a new truck feels when you drive it off the lot ? Well that's what I got when I put these on the first time a few years back - that was short lived tho. Thing is , there just too short. If I tork them to 1/2 the spec, I get a bobble when hitting certain types of bumps (if you know what I mean). If I torque to spec, it looks goofy, bunches up the front end, I loose travel, steers funny and I rip the bushings out in about a week, but in general, it will ride good for a week lol.
If I could only get the right size. I ordered those extenders. If I can fix the length issue, the ride would be that much better. I know everyone thinks I'm crazy lol, it's a seriouse problem tho, I have to fix it. - I'm gonna try to fix these one more time - I ordered Bilstein extenders - The 1".

You know what - Screw Bilstein - Just got off the phone with em AGAIN and I can't even buy a set of replacement bushings for their product. What crap! Claiming these shocks as defective and returning.
Guess I'm not important enough. Man, those woman wizz me off over there! I give up.

Got to the Auto store and buy 2 Monroe, Gas-Magnum,
Part# M34657 (fronts). They shouldn't be more than $36.00 ea.
Why don't you like the look of them?
You can take the next jump up and buy their Reflex Monotube's.
More $$$ for sure. I believe that is their top of the line for fronts.
Actually, If you can wait and it doesn't seem like you can, I can have mine put in and let you know. I would have to call and make sure they have those Monotubes in stock. They look like a nice shock. I would have to call a friend at the dealer and see what he knows about these and if it is over-kill for my truck. He is the one that said the Magnum's were just right for my truck.

Yea , I need to get back to work without having to purchase a new truck - I sold the 01 after new years and I'm down to this one. If I can hold out a little longer I'll be able to swing a Raptor
You going with the Monroe Reflex Monotubes or the the Monroe Gas Magnums like I have. If you go with the Monotubes, let me know what you think. They are about $30.00 more for a a pair of them, which isn't much in my opinion. I called Allied Spring who will do my install and they said they can have them in a day. The guy said that customers usually don't purchase over the Magnum line which they sell as thier high end shock. He also said that the Reflex line is worth the extra money in his opinion.
