'05 Rack Problems???

So this morning i took my 05 4x4 Screw with 46,000 miles to the dealership for the recalled vacuum hose. While fixing that, the techs found a power steering fluid leak. So they charged me $40 just to locate the leak (Lame) and then said that i needed a new rack and pinion (at least $780).....

Im honestly suspicious, Ive never had any problem with my steering and ive never noticed the fluid going low. So taking it somewhere else to get another opinion.

Has anyone else had this same problem with any of the 04-08 models?

I tell u what I've an appoinment with the local dealer tomorrow,
my steering wheel got lock or stuck I mean I can not move it or pull it up and down.. dealer says it's gonna replace it under warranty (I'm not sure about what mecanism or parts gonna been replaced but).. sound like a comun problem.. first when I moved up or down I heard a "track" or "rack" sound then got lock or stuck so they gonna change it (wheel column I think they call it)

Update: I Took the truck to a local tire/suspension shop. The tech looked at where the Dealership said the problem was... He chuckled and said that it was fine. So $800 saved. Haha
