Question How do i tell if torsion bars has been cranked?

How do i tell if the pervious owner has cranked the torsion bars up all the way?The ride has always been a buck board. I have had the aliment done three times scene i have owned the truck and ever time it had been dead on.

lFind the torsion keys, theres a bolt in them if its tightened up then they have been messed with.

Just follow the Torsion bars back till they end into a crossmember. Then the Torsion keys are in there and the bolt head will be facing down.

Ok i followed the bar back. i fount the bolt head facing down. There is about half of the bolt on either side of the key. Dose that mean it has been cranked?

If you have around 1/2 inch or more thread showing on the adjustment bolts they are not cranked up much if any.

You could just go ahead and crank them down a little to see if it helps. Your front end will drop slightly though.

new shocks "Gabriel" and a new set of 4ply tires (bridgestone-revo)
I might go a head and crank them down a little to see if it helps.
Will any of this mess up my aliment?

I'd carefully count the number of turns instead.

The threads will be different on each side. I cranked mine on my 2001 4wd supercrew, but before I did, I counted 11 threads exposed on driver's side and 8 on passenger's side. I'm sure it's different for every truck, but if yours are close to that you probably have something else going on. I would check shocks and tires for the stiff ride.

Wandell, I have a very similar truck as you. I installed a 4" pro-comp lift and 315/70/r17 maxxis mudders. Recently, when I go over small bumps in the road, the front driver's side tends to bounce too much....sometimes it goes into a full-shake that will chatter your teeth. It doesn't pull and drives perfect most of the time, but every now and then it goes completely crazy! I have to let off and slow down for it to stop shaking, then I can get back to normal. Since you've been on here and had so many posts, have you heard of this?

Also, how do you include pictures on posts?

I would appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks,
Nick

Those are all good question. For the truck question my truck is stock my fornt diver side will knock when i go over bumps. it sounds like something is really wrong. i have checked it severl time and the dealer and may other mecahices nobody can come up with a promblem. I have drove it like this for the past 5 year nothing has fallen off yet so i just forget about it.

As for the pictures i don't know i have been trying to get this my self. When you get that info let me know
