NOTE: I found out today that both axles in fact have lockers in them. this worries me.
1. Do i sell the locker out of the front axle, and replace with a selectable?
2. Do i sell the locker out of the front and rear and replace both with selectable?
3. Do i replace the locker in the front with a limited slip?
4. Do i replace the locker in the rear with a limited slip?
5. Or do i leave it, see how it drives and decided from there?
SIDE NOTE: Ive driven with a rear locker before and was fine but ive always driven with either an open front or at the best a selectable locker.

Just beautiful parts, Cecil...
Lockers up front is more of a big deal w/ IFS, but, a front selectable locker is better, imo. You don't want your steering binding up in 4WD when you need it most... ARB makes some good selectable e-lockers.
You're sure you don't have a spool in the rear, right? You know they're not recommended for street driving, just reminding you.

well as far as i know (just the guy i bought them from) he told me that they were front and rear lockers that were put in at the same time as the 5.13's
Im just gonna give it a try and see if i can drive it on the road with out too much of a head ache.
In the process of painting these wheels, waiting on primer to dry then ill snap some pics.
Ive used this method on a few chrome things and all hold up pretty well.
1. Sand down
2. Self Etching Primer
3. Sand primer (if you really want too) not really needed
4. Paint (black krylon)
5. Wet sand inbetween black coats
6. Clear
7. Wet sand inbetween clear coats
8. Sratch remover (last step) apply and buff out by hand.
lets see how it works on these. The last wheels and bumpers i did looked great and didnt show any chipping for about 1.5-2 years for $20 thats good enough for me. rember im not making a beauty queen here.

So far the only things I don't like are A) the ground hawgs (just ehh is my opinion on those) lol somewhat minor for now, and B) the 4.2, but FOR NOW is the part that makes it acceptable. I cannot wait to make a trip up your way and see this thing.
the 4.2 will be fine for the mean time, when im gettin the money for the new motor (whatever it is) im gonna run a 75 shot in my 4.2 while in the mud. Im not familiar with No2.
the build will take alittle longer than first thought. instead of being this week it probably wont be ready till next week. The shop has gotten REALLY busy in the last week.
we are throwing around the idea of a full 4-link not sure if thats a reality yet but i might possibly be.
im almost finished with the wheels. Mind you they wont win any awards but they are better than what they were to begin with, and they will most likely be dirty for the most part.
the pics arent that good the wheels were really dusty due to it being windy. But they do look pretty good out in the sun light. i did all 4 but too save space im just gonna show 1 finished product
Self Etching Primer

Heavy Duty Primer

Wheel center cap

after clear and paint notice the dust

Center caps after paint, clear, and scratch remover

and a few more i took of Joe's truck sunday

So, I can't imagine any issues at all from a front locker. Now, if its spooled front, or welded front, then your going to be stressing parts, breaking ****, and just doing nothing but harm on the street. Pop that front cover off and take a look at whatcha got. Another peice of advice, those chrome dif covers vtrap the heat inside the diff really good, which is bad. Also, they tend to be super thin, and break vs. bend when hit with anything. Just some word of advice. And for the people worried about his 4.2.... I laugh in your direction !

I can show video after video of super small 4 bangers with MONSTER tires bumping and crawlin over some crazy rocks. All on 39" tires or bigger !
Gearing is your friend !
To give you an idea for some rims, these are a set me and a buddy just made for his little samurai. 15" steelies, on 34x10.50 LTB's.

Look good if you ask me, plus makes the wheels BEEF !
MT, how much did it cost to make the beadlocks?
trimble, how can you take pics of another truck and not yours?!

As long as its an actual locker up front, your fine. Lockers ratchet and allow for some movement. Really not bad at all up front, unless your trying to really hammer through a turn. But at your height, your *** will just roll over !

and when i first saw the pics of the axles before i bought them i was already set on getting new covers (bluetorchfab) but then i got to see them up close and they look to be made out of billet aluminum

but they are REALLY THICK.
and ive been contemplating something for the wheels like that.
Trimble, is that 250 street legal with that height? That truck is sick!
I have been following your thread but havent posted. Can't wait to see your finished truck. It sounds like its going to be badass!!

Actually those are rim "stiffeners". No holes or clamps for beadlocks. You put these on steel wheels. If you've ever been out in the rocks with regular steelies, the lip can catch a rock, bend up, and let air leak out. No good. So, you weld these rings in to prevent that. They are 1/4" thick.
Stiffeners go for about $195 to your door.
Beadlocks are a bit more, more like $280 to your door. Plus probably close to $75-$100 just in hardware (bolts, nuts, washers, etc).
You then have to install them. Check this place out, cool guys. Its where we get all our rim stuff:
http://www.diy4x.com/main.htm
lots of other good stuff. You can customize the rings too, if ya want.
Just ordered up some more BTF diff covers for the yoders. They are awesome. Love BTF.
So, those covers are polished aluminum ? And not chrome ? I dunno, I would run something not so "bling-bling".
Example:

Thats a buddies rig, not mine, I did nothing to it !
But thats the same housing and cover I will be running, from Blue torch.
man, I am bored !
Oh, and Trim ! Check out the diy4x4 page I posted. Has lots of goodies for D60 axles. Ram assist mounts and all kinds of cool **** !

Yeah the front is a track-lock type so it will be fine.
