'05 F150 Lower Ball Joint replacement

I was wondering if anyone has had to do this, is so, what steps you took. It looks to be fairly easy but any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

your local auto store should have a tool that is basically a C-clamp with a hole on the end thats made for removing them. just jack it up, pull the tire off and use that tool to pop it out and press in the new one, and when you tighten the nut it'll pull whats left if there is any, kinda like pressin a new stud in a hub. thats about the basics of it

Are you replacing the uppers as well? How do you know if it's just the lowers that are bad?

I'd like to hear how you verify the lowers are bad as well.

Ford dealership let me know about mine

How much more to you need to take off to get the lower bj out? Haynes manual just said that the lowers were non-serviciable and you need to replace the entire control arm. Which is bs. I have the exact same question jkubek

I think you have it backwards. The lowers can be replaced. The uppers you have to buy the entire control arm.

the suspension's really easy to work on on these trucks, for the price of the parts, you might as well just replace them both, better than losing all your tread on 250$ tires

The Goodyear store told me there was play in the lower right and could not check the alignment when I got new tires.
