Just got off the phone with James aka M-Tech and the dude couldn't have been cooler. Thanks 5150 for the references, I really do appreciate the time you took to help me out. If anyone lives in the bay area and is looking to get some work done then I would definitely guide them in James' direction.

Well, piecrde was being awesome and working with me. I had to replace front shocks on the truck. Then a screaming deal on some Samurai parts came my way, and I had to drop little over a grand on it. More then worth it though. I am building it to compete, so it takes a bigger priority over the truck. the grill would look sweet, but offers no real function. i need some 38" tires, lockers, hysteer and more tubing for the project. I had to pick. It sucks, but I think I went the right route. Someone else now gets a screaming deal with a cool guy.
yes sir ,somehow i feel like i should respond "thats what she said" but it doesnt fit in. i think they give a more dramatic effect lol
found a new site for smilies just test'em out haha

my cross over steering should be in early next week. got 4x4 labs, only option for my 40 since i have the smaller knuckles and their the only company that makes it. right now i am having the tough decision to put another 350 in it or go back to the original 2f motor. once i decide this, im ordering my twin stick kit from AA, it matters if i have a 350 or a 2f for some reason due to the bell housing

Ya, I bought some of their hysteer stuff, but am making my own kit. It wasn't complete, basically it was the steering arms, and a couple FJ80 tie rod ends (some of the best you can get. they are huge ! ).
4x4 labs makes some good stuff. I would also suggest getting the ARP studs to bolt the steering arm down. Can't even count how many busted knuckles and broken steering arms I have seen. The bolts are usually the reason. Factory ones just aint made for off road/big tire stress. ARP studs and bolts. Check em out.
Well, since your building a wheeler, not a restored classic, I'd suggest going with the 350. Tried and true motor. Easy to find parts. More HP. Just a good all around motor. Why not look for an LS1 engine ??? Would be a little more coin, but MORE then worth the investment !!! LS1 would be the way to go !!
OK, sorry OP, didn't mean to hijack this thread at all !! 06yz shoot me a PM if ya need anything !! So we can keep our wheeling talk outta the thread

Hey Indo, had I seen this sooner there is a shop in Salinas that does work for super cheap (hour away). It is called Big Bear. They do all kinds of work on big huge trucks without the south bay labor cost.... just a fyi if you ever need any work done again in the future.

lol
