skyjacker or fabtech
i have a 2001 ford f150 off road 4x4 and want to lift it. i want to do a 6" suspension and 3" body later but fornow jsut the suspension lift. the only mkes i can find that have an actual 6" lift is skyjacker and fabtech which one do u think would be best. im pretty sure both kits have blocks for the rear abnd everything to lift the front exactly 6 inches without touching the torsion bars.

fabtech. the skyjacker kit is ok, but the crossmembers are flat designed, whereas the fabtech's are arched, and therefore a more preferred design.
i'm not sure on the skyjacker, but the fabtech is a true 6'' lift. the subframe places the boltholes for the lower control arms a full 6'' below stock, and the rest of the kit is designed around this. the torsion bars, front differential, etc are dropped down to compensate for the lift.

Ive broken 2 Rancho lifts. Not on my F150 but 1 on my ranger and one on my bronco II
That was the last time i will use their lifts.
Things have changed though, and id trust rancho on the 04-08 but not on the 97-03.
the torsion bar front end is just too picky

I do believe they have since solved the issue of a drop plate vs new Bracket on the RBV though... but definately not my choice for RBV's!
With that out of the way.... you a member of broncoii.org? Should check it out if your not..... and if you still have the BII
Cheers

Hardly comparable! The F150 lifts are NO way near the poor quality Rancho put out for RBV's! Those lifts are garbage!

And yes its not the same suspension but IMO i wont ever run their lifts again. thats just me. I know the TTB's were a pain in the butt to lift to begin with but after i went to a sky jacker lift i stopped breaking drop down brackets....
After so much headache from those companies ill spend my money else where.
