35s and bigger, what did you do with your spare tire?

Would anyone be foolish enough to use the stock spare tire from these trucks if you are running 35's or bigger?

Lets say you did get a flat, would you use the spare tire if you had 35 inch tires? 37s? I'm guessing you would have to put it on the front of the truck because it would burn the hell out of the clutches on the limited slip....

Guys, don't give me a reason to keep my spare tire....

PM Minimonster17, he was able to fit a 35 underneath his bed where the OEM spare was. I think he had to do a little grinding and I'm not sure if it has to be deflated (in which case you would need to keep an air compressor in your truck), but I'm pretty sure it's possible. ANything bigger than a 35 has to be in the bed I think or on a roof rack.

Alternatively, if you do get a flat, you can use your OEM spare on the front only and limp to a shop. If you get a flat in the rear, you would need to take a 35 off of the front and stick it on the rear and then put the OEM spare on the front.

Didn't realize you had an 05, but I think you can still cram a 35 underneath the bed.

I took my spare tire out, I'm running 37's so if i get a flat, i guess that will be the best time to use my road side assistance.lol

awhile back i punctured my tire (37 mud grappler) out at rancho if it wasnt for my spare tire i would have ended up leaaving my truck. but i put the spare on the backaxle bcuz i was lazy and i limped at 15 mph into town which is a ten plus mile hike to get my tire patched lol...so i would say keep your spare you dont want to be stranded trust me it sucks

guys, most road side assistance programs have small writting about lifted and over sized trucks, especially 4x4. Just FYI, 9 outta 10 times if not more, they aint gunna do shyt for you. Maybe say "bummer" and be on there way. If they really want, they might help, but they do not have to, and most will not bother. Don't rely on anyone except yourself, life will be easier that way, promise.

My spare tires chills in my bed. Got a big ole chain through the spare, through the tie down deals, and locked with a padlock. Not theft proof, but never had an issue. Looking for something nicer and more permanent, but this has worked good for me, for over a year now. Well over a year....

I am sure they would fit. Might stick outta extra far, and look kinda goofy, but would work. A spare and 3 35" tires isn't the best idea though.

Also, why would you not bring your key lock with you ? What if, in some kind of emergency, you need to remove a wheel ? Emergencies can suck, being unprepared makes it that much worse. Trust me. Learned the hard way plenty of times !

See thats another reason i took my spare out didn't think that would be very safe to a spare tire on with 3 37 inch tires, reason i really dont carry the key is the area i work in really aint the best, lots of vehicles get broken into, so i didn't want anyone to break in still the lug key then one day at work take them off, i'm about to get a alarm put on so maybe then i will keep it in the truck

I see. I figured it was a security thing. If you have the big center console in the middle, I have seen security lock boxes installed. A locking tool box is another idea. Locking safe box under a seat. I would do whatever I had to, to keep that key with me.
