Help me understand!!! 3in lift issues

Ive got to admit that i just dont understand alot about lifts and all theat good stuff....so ill tell ya what i got!

I bought a 2005 F-150 about 3 months ago I got cought up in the hipe of owning my first lifting truck so I have

2005 F-150 with a SkyJacker lift kit and as far as i know with the recipt that was givin to me says that it came with 2-3" struts for 4wd, hydro shocks 7000, and add a leafs 1.5"

things i do know is that my tie rod ends and ball joints are at the most extreme angle they can be at and I have 4wd and the cv joints are all screwed up the 2 joints are at like 45 degree angles!!! and i have had to replace the boots because of it constantly getting rotated in that bad angle and when i go over a hill doing say 40 and the suspension falls as the body rises over the hill the front end vibrates and makes a thuda thuda thuda sound very rapidly untill the body falls back into the suspensions home and i know this cause is because of the cv shaft

Now i only have what i think is a 3 in lift but i know this set up that i have is completly wrong or im missing another part i really dont understand at all all i know is that i have to fix this asap

I saw a 8in. lift kit and it had extra braces and stuff but i dont know anything else about it but i do know when i look at the pictures of the 8in lift i know that the cv shafts were close to stock nice and strait and the ball joints and tie rod ends looked to be in the stock possisons

HOW DO I ACHEIVE THIS???

right now you have a 3" leveling kit which cause worse angles for everything up front, your only way to fix it that i know of is to take it out

you just have a leveling shock which puts stress up front and creates worse angles if you were to get a body lift or a suspension lift only you would have close to stock angles

here is a pic of my angles with my lift

and here is one when i had my 2.5" leveling kit

That is why Skyjacker doesn't make that lift anymore. Most manufacturers have figured out that 2.5 inches is the maximum you can lift the front of an 04-08 F-150 with longer shocks or spacers (aka leveling kits) without dropdown brackets to correct the CV and ball joint angles.
Also, yes a body lift is completly different because it simply lifts the body 3 inches above the frame.

Take a picture of the top of your coil spring. It sounds like a leveling kit, not a true lift kit where there are drop brackets used to relocate the mounting points for the LCA.

fx4 for life is right. you will need to remove the front "lift" and go back to stock and use a 2 1/2' spacer at max

No. You need to remove your 3 inch lift and install a complete lift kit. I'd suggest the Fabtech lift.

ok so i feel like im getting contridictory answers'

Wendall says i need to take it off completly scrap it and get a whole new set up

fx4 for life sounds to me like take the spacers in the front out and shocks and get drop downs and the rest of the suspension lift....

so what i have in the rear end is good stuff i just need to rework the front end? and if so then the stuff i take off the front end is crap? wont hurt my feelings here lol

if you buy a lift, all the stuff is included (some don't include shocks) to make it sit right, obviously the front is lifted more, and the rear less. rancho/pro comp/rcd/fabtech/superlift all make decent kits, i'd steer away from the rough country one. price wise anywhere from 1300 for the pro comp up to 2500 for the fabtech stage 2, it all depends on what options you go with.

a 3" leveling kit like you have is pointless. Its strectching the suspension TOO much without relocation brackets.

What do you want? Just too fix the problem or lift the truck?

If you want to fix the problem take the 3" leveling spacer out and replace it with a 2 or 2.5" leveling kit spacer.

If you want to lift the truck AND fix the problem, then buy a FULL suspension lift (procomp, fabtech, rize, CST) all of these are different suspension lifts. Then take the 3" leveling kit off and install the newly bought suspension lift.

Its really simple if you think about it. Go take your tires off and look at what we are talking about.

what im trying to say is take them out and get a actually lift kit, or take them out and do a bodylift
