2001 supercrew leveling questions and tire questions
seems this is the only questions that ever get asked on this forum and i can't find a thing in the search function for my model. the search function doesn't work right for me.
anyways...
i have a 2001 supercrew 5.4 2vd
i put new rear shocks on last night, monroe load adjustable shocks. they are great and i love them, but the raised the back of my truck to 36.5" from ground to top of wheel arch. from the search i made on the internet, the stock is 34" rear. so that would be a 2.5" raise. i could tell it was higher as i did one side before the other and the truck was leaning towards the side that had the OEM shock on it. i also measured some of the f150s at my work and they all seem to be anywhere from 34" rear to 35.5" rear and 33' front to 34" front. so i must depend on the truck and the suspension that it has. mine measured alittle different today in the front. i got 34 front today....must be the ground i am on or something. i will measure again in my driveway. the rear stayed the same on mine. driver's side is higher in the rear by .5" 36" passenger and 36.5" driver's rear. gas tank i suppose, idk....
so what i want to do is level up the front. the front is measuring 33-34" ground to top of wheel arch. the best thing i have come up with is the rough country leveling springs that give you 2" of lift. that would put me at 35-36" in the front, which is better than what it is now. i also understand that the rear will sag a bit once the rear shocks get settled in, all suspension does that. should loose the .5" on the rear when that happens.
so, if that works out it will have 35-36" front and 36" rear. which is fine by me.
i just wanted to know if anyone has used the rough country leveling springs. and i also saw that someone had used the rough county 3" spindle lift, but hey don't make that anymore...anywhere to get that vs. the spring....as that would actually level me out perfectly. i was told by the rough country support that the monroe gas magnums would work fine with their leveling springs, but that i may need the cam/caster kit to get it aligned right....and thoughts on that?
the front shocks are getting replaced with monroe gas magnum truck shocks.
the truck has 101k on it, one owner. i plan to do the ball joints also as i am getting some knocking from the suspension on cold days.
also what size tire can i get under there with the level in the front and the stated height in the rear.
sum it up:
1. anyone use the rough country leveling springs
2. anyone know where they are still selling the rough country 3" spindle lift
3. what size tire can i get with the stated ride heights. 35-36 front and 36 or so rear.
4. camber/caster kit...thoughts?
