Shim kit???
Shim kit???
not so sure about the 110 bucks for a piece of metal (3 inch block)...it really doesnt sound right to me. Ive read something about shim kits? what are they and where can you get them? would this give me 3 inch total?
a shim kit is designed to re-align the drive angles.... it mounts between the rear blocks, and the leaf springs.... it changes the pinion angle to help with driveline vibrations. it would not give you much lift, as they arent very thick. one end will be only about 1/16" thick, and the other end could be up to 3/8" or so.....
if you look on ebay you can find a replacement block kit (3") with all the u-bolts and nuts, so for 110.00, its not a bad price at all.... they even retain the use of the factory bump stops.

Pro-comp has them for cheap. They are truck specific. ( two allignment holes)
