2004 Screw, Stock, 2" AS, then Bilstein 5100

Here is my leveling saga.

Started stock:

I first put in 2" AS spacers and felt that it was to high in the front. The front measured 1/2" higher (ground to wheel well) than the back. I am very against my truck having reverse rake...........

So, to solve my problem I purchased Bilstein 5100 adjustable (3 slots) front shocks and installed them in the middle 1" setting.

I had the new shocks and the 2" AS spacers side by side and the spacers take up more space than the shocks in the highest setting by about 3/8", which should relate to about 1/2" of lift roughly.

While I am happy right now, I may switch the shocks to the higher groove at some point.

You're truck looks level to me with the AS 2" lift - you will have a little more space in the wheel well. I did as well but my truck is level. Your truck still looks good though. It probably rides better too!

I like to be able to haul/pull something without riding high in the front.

I needed shocks anyway.

How hard was the install and where did you order the shocks from? I am considering doing this my self because i am getting quoted 800-1100$ total!! which is nuts.

Hardest part was compressing the springs with the spring compressor that Auto Zone has, it is a bit light duty for the job and I wouldn't recommend it for this job.

I would pull them and take them to a shop for the swap of the spring.

Don't bother removing the sway bar either, it isn't necessary.

I purchased from : http://www.koreraceshop.com/suspension-2.aspx

Thanks for the info man, I really appreciated that I am going to order the entire set and install the rears and then take it up to a suspension place and have them work on the strut/spring.
