need a more few inches
need a more few inches
Ok I have a 98 f150 4WD with skyjackers shocks, a 3" body lift and 33 x 12.50 pro comp mud terrrains. I want to fit 35 x 14.50 though. Im sure I could fit with a lot of trimming. However what is the best way to get a few inches without a suspension lift? Add a leaf, stack another block (both of these I would need to crank the bars I believe) and I have heard that shackles give you a few inches but I have no idea what these do or even where they go. Any help would be great. Thanks Guys!!
yeah I was thinking maybe an add a leaf and crank the bars or something. Do you know anything about shackles? I have heard its a good way to get more lift but i have no idea what they do or anything..

Fitting the tires in the back is the least of your concern. The rubbing is going to be in the front. Even if you could fit 14.5" wide tires, it's going to look like a big roller skate especially with only a 3" body lift. Plus you would need atleast a 10" wide wheel which will only make the rubbing worse, and kill the front end components of the truck even quicker.
you CAN fit a 36x12.5x16 with a body lift and the torsion bar adjustment keys cranked all the way up. I have this setup right now and i really dont recommend it unless you plan on lifting it more in the future (suspension)
1. You have to go with a narrow tire Super Swamper TSL's work perfect.
2. You have to use stock wheels
3. The bumper will have to be cut, not trimmed but cut. you can make it look nice with alittle time, just follow the metal piece of the bumper down to the plastic and just cut the plastic in a straight line with the metal.
4. you will rub at full lock, but its fairly easy to avoid.
I didnt really care to cut my bumper because im getting a new winch bumper installed soon.
The setup works well, on and offroad. The only problem with it is the tires are under the fenders thus your truck wont get very dirty, well at least the paint. This might be a good thing for some people.
But agian, i dont recommend this to everyone this is just what i did.
