Bilstein 5100 Question

Ok, most people on here seem to say TopGunz is the place to get the 5100s. I was looking at their site, and even though the top of the page says they fit 04-08 trucks, at the bottom in the "Applications" section it says 05-07...here's the link: http://www.topguncustomz.com/Store/G...view=193574766

I just want to make sure these will work on my '04 4x4. Also, when I measured it seems like my rear fender was exactly 1.75" higher from the center of the hub than the front fender. With this in mind, do you think I would be better off with the 1" setting or the 2"? I don't mind keeping some rake, but I really don't want the front higher than the back, so I'm thinking maybe the 1".

FWIW I just put in the AutoSprings 2" spacer in my 04 Screw.

I ended up with my front too hight (and I hate that) so I ordered the 5100's and will be putting them on in the next week. I will likely install 1 notch lower than max assuming the max would be the same 2" that the spacer provide.

My rake at present is 1/2" high in the front, measured from the ground.

Yes, they will work on your '04. I have them on my '04.

The front shock settings are either no lift or 2".

I recently had my 2.5" AS swapped out with the Bilsteins set to 2" and now the front sits barely lower than the back. Before with the AS the front sat noticably higher, I think it also rides better with the Bilsteins.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but ...

What is involved in changing the setting on the 5100's from stock to 2"?

I have a set that I had installed about 6mths ago that is set to stock. I just bought a set of BFG At 305's and now I need to reset the 5100's.

I guess I'm asking if they can be changed on the truck or do they have to be removed before the settings can be changed?

Thanks. These are definitely my next purchase. I can't stand the stupid rake anymore

You will need to remove the shock from the coil assembly! Than just move the retaining clip up!

There is only 2 settings as previously stated! 1: stock and 2: 2".... its pretty straight forward when you get it apart!

Hope this helps

I have them on my '04, at the 2'' setting. Now my front end is just a hair lower then the back. IMO, it sits perfect. If i'm not mistaken, the '04's maybe the 05's, had a lot more factory rake the the latter models, so there maybe some differences in measurments.

Thanks, Nemisus. I'm actually the local dealership do the work and just wanted to be sure they were charging me fairly. I didn't want to pay them for removing the shock if they could just adjust it.
