2006 Screw Front Coil over R&R

All: has anyone done their own front coil over strut replacement? I've got an '06 Screw that needs new fronts and rears. While the rears are easy, the fronts with the strut can obviously be an issue. When you put the truck on stands (high enough to remove tire contact w/surface) and remove the tie-rod end from the steering knuckle, is there enough pressure released from the coil to prevent the thing from blowing out the bottom of the lower control arm and damaging the vehicle, and more importantly, me? The coil springs have to be re-used so should I even bother trying to do it myself or just take it to the shop and pay up?

Any input appreciated...

you can take the set up out of the truck perfectly fine, take the wheel off, the tie rod end off, and one of the ball joints for the knuckle and you can just unbolt it and it will be fine. taking the system apart is a different story though, i havent done that and dont plan on doing that so i cant help ya with that.
