The suspension would be much more worth it. Reasons have pretty much been explained, but more suggestions always help. The BL would be cheaper, but shops do charge twice to three times more the price you bought the BL for. No idea what truck you have becuase you have not stated it in your information, but 97 - '03s BL installs are a little easier than 04+ trucks, but your still in for a hell of a install job. Theres alot of nuts and bolts and angles to get at.
A full suspension lift of about $1,000 - $2,000 would run $500 - $800 installed depending, which is much more than a $1,000 BL, but, the advantages of the suspension lift ( better clearance, smooth ride, looks more rugged... ) need to fall into your preferences for what you want, looks, or clearance.

I am very happy with my 3" body lift. I found it onsale for $188.00 plus shipping. I also installed a 3" spindle lift (I have a 4x2). I installed both by myself with a little bit of help from my wife and 3 1/2 year old son:) I am glad to know that I saved so much money by doing it myself. I need to convince my wife that I saved so much money so that I can do something else like: add a valence with fog lights, expy console, driving lights etc... I am sure some of you feel my pain. I still need to update my signature pic. I have reinstalled the side steps and the front valence. It just needs a bath now!

On some trucks with body lifts, the main frame rails show really bad. Our's are not bad at all. They are easily hidden completely with nerf bars or step boards.

minimonster17- where did you go to find a used lift? Thanks!

i bought my used fabtech from Lolito, who switched to a DBR long travel suspension.

I have 3.5" spacers in the front and 2" blocks in the rear of an 06 with 35" tires and have slight rubbing in the front. I trimmed the front part of the wheel well but the back/inside of the front wheel wells is more than plastic, how do I trim that to eliminate rubbing?
Thanks |
