Bilstein 5100s

Hey guys I have a stock suspension other than the 2" Autospring in the front. Can I run the Bilstein 5100s part numbers F4-BE5-C298-H0, and F4-BE5-C299-H0 on my truck?

Let me know. Thanks.

You can only use the autospring if you have the bilsteins set for 0" (stock setting) of lift, but I would ditch the autospring and use the shocks for the 2" of lift

Also, you want part # F4-BE5-C298-H1 for the front not H0

Oh so these shocks are provide the lift in the front instead of the Autospring?

Why H1 for the front?

Yes they have 3 grooves in the shock body and a snap ring that goes into it's place. They have 3 different settings, 0 (stock), 1" or 2".

I said H1 because that is the correct ending part #. You had all the other numbers right

In other words it's F4-BE5-C298-H1 not F4-BE5-C298-H0

I understand it might be right for my truck but whats the difference between the H0 and H1? The H0 comes up as the first correct part for my truck on the Bilstein catalog.

To be honest I don't know, you can type both # numbers in on the Bilstein website and both will come up the same so I figure it doesn't matter

How do you replace the front shocks? Must the coil be removed?

Yes you have to take the stock shocks out of the stock coils and install the new bilsteins in your stock coils. It's not too difficult (I installed mine) but you'll need a spring compressor as well as a few other tools and impact tools always come in handy. Although if you're uncomfortable with it, I'd probably just take it to a shop

Nah I put the Autospring in there. I got more tools than I know what to do with. I am waiting to use my new Makita impact wrench

I have a question about a pair of front Bilstein shocks I bought for my Suburban. I noticed you cannot contact Bilstein. Who should I call for help?!
