Truck shaking uncontrollably

Hello everyone. I have an 02 FX4 that I just took mud tires off of and put a new set of AT tires put on. Prior to the new tires the truck was loud but did not have any shaking whatsoever. No since the new AT tires it shakes uncontrollably when I get up to 55 MPH. The wierd part, is that it is smooth as glass from 0-50. I have had them rebalanced twice and it is still there. I cannot tell if it is coming from the front or the back because it is that bad. The truck is at the shop now and the mechanic says he is not sure what it can be. He said that I have a worn idler arm and pitman arm but that would not cause the truck to shake the way it is. Any ideas? Thank you all for your input.

Yeah I read something about the jeep thing while trying to research this problem. Not sure if it is the same but sounds very similar. I have had my truck for 5 years and have never experienced anything like this before with it or any other vehicle and I guess that is why I am clueless.

What kind of wheels? Mags?

Let me rephrase, are they weighted to the outside?

well, in jeeps its because the steering alignment and geometry is off. Never heard of that in our trucks before...but there's always a first.

When they balance, are they doing a road force or static balance?
