Front end creak - New to forum

Hi guys, this is my first post here.
I bought a 05 F150 Supercrew Lariat a few weeks ago off auction. It's VERY clean with 50,000 miles and has a moon roof. It's White, with matching white Snugtop hard bed cover. It came with new set of Goodyear Wrangler SR-A tires. Carfax was clean.

Nothing is perfect so I expected a few things.
1 - Has a little front rotor warp, so I took care of that.
2 - Brake booster line recall, done.
3 - Ashtray rattle - got to get some foam tape and see what I can do about that.
4 - Had some front end squeaks - ummm...

Had the dealer look at it when I had it in for the recall. Said bushings looked good but were dry, everything was tight. Before they torn into anything, the mechanic said he try lubing them up and see if that did the trick. Well that worked for a couple days.

Here's what I hear. When I am slowly turning into a parking lot and turning into a parking space I hear a Creak....Creak....Creak, that osolates with the speed of the rotating tire. Turns people's heads when I roll in :o. Nice!

Other than that, the steering is tight. Truck rides smooth and tight on the road. Shocks are still oem but feel fine too. Also, is the 5.4 a kinda noisy engine? (not the diesel sounding clicking I've read about here). I have a 04 Expedition Eddie Bauer with a 4.6 in it, so I was used to hearing that engine all the time.

Any ideas about the front end before I take it back in?

Thank you!

Get on one side of your front fenders and rock the truck side to side. If it is squeeking by doing this, grease your balljoints. I had the same problem. I was embarassed it sounded so bad. A day after greasing them...........no more squeeking.

noblem,
Seems to be only when I'm turning. Turning right especially. I swear I feel a little something through the steering wheel when it's turned as I pull in to park. Like a tiny wobble maybe. But going over speed bumps, nothing, quiet and tight. Normal driving, the truck drives and feels smooth and tight.

I tried DIHLON's idea yesterday, rocking side to side. Nothing, no squeaks.

Don't know if this matters, but the new tires that are on there have maybe 200 to 300 miles on them. I don't see any funny wear on them. Tires look even to me.

Thanks for the reply guys!

Problem ended up being front wheel bearings.

I took it back to the dealer, and had the shop foreman take a ride with me. He heard the noise I was talking about. He got out of the truck and had me drive slowly in a circle both ways while he walked next the the front end. Dealer credited me back $$ for work that was done the first service. All is fixed now and good to go. What a difference, seems to glide now.

Thanks for the reply's!

Good to hear that the dealer did right by reimbursing you. not too often do you hear a good dealer experience.
