so rize and fabtech are now backordered. you would think with the decline of truck sales, that would mean less lifts being sold, but it seems like everyone is lifting their trucks lately.

i know how you feel, i had to wait 2 weeks for my truck to get lifted, then the worst part of all they took 7 days to get the wheels in from another distributor because the rims i ordered were back ordered, and this was all over spring break last year

Waiting sucks...but it will be worth it. Use the time to make sure you are totally set with tools. I had to run out and buy a 7/16-20 tap and die because I f'd up one of the rear u bolts. Be prepared for anything...

Months? That makes the wait for a Troyer Performance Custom Tune seem like nothing.

I got my local 4WheelParts.com store to match an online price that I found. All that they had to do was get it from the back. I walked in, showed them the price, they matched it, and the lift was on the truck. No waiting for parts.

Is this a good story about 4WheelParts?! I thought those didn't exist anymore!

Just like every other business; the more outlets you have, the more volume you do, the more that your quality control slides. Look at those giant stores like Safeway, O'Reilly CSK Auto Parts, & Home Depot. How many times have you asked a vegetarian meat clerk for advice? Or visited the parts counter only to find a kid who isn't old enough to drive after dark by himself? I like the lumber clerks who have 3 inch Lee Press On nails who know nothing about wood. But every once in a while, you can still get a diamond in the rough. Yes, it does happen. 4WheelParts.com may have lots of stores that suck, and sales people who know nothing about off-roading. But luckily for me, my local outlet has a decent crew. They drive the same lifted trucks & Jeeps as we do, and actually go off road. On my last visit, they were kicking out a guy who wanted to put 24's on an Escalade pimp mobile.

I don't know if I would kick them out. I think a lot of Escalades look good with 24's. No lift though. Besides. Business is business. I take what money I can get.
