Cut springs on 08 f150 fx2

hey guys. i wanted to slam my 08 f150 fx2 the cheap way. was wondering if anyone has ever done this to any of their f150s and if they have had any issues or if anyone recommends against this. any feedback is appreciated. thanks

i wouldn't recomend cutting springs ever. i know of people that have done it to cars and never had any problems but it isn't the safest thing to do. you would probably be better of buying lowering springs. just my 2 cents

Plus you will know how much drop you are getting rather than experimenting.

I wouldnt recommend it on the newer coil on strut suspension.

You used to be able to get away with it on the LSA suspension on the 97-03 trucks

Drop springs are cheap, and safe.

i might just be the guinea pig for this forum. think i might do it and if something gets messed up or if the ride totally sucks, ill buy a spring kit.

Let us know how it works.
Mixedbreed, Eibach and a couple other companies make lowering springs for the front of the 04-08 F-150's and 03-08 Expys.

so i cant lower it by cutting the springs in the front and the rear? sorry if this is a dumb question, im new to modding trucks. ive always had muscle cars.

Only coil springs can be cut, and you have leaf springs in the rear, coil in the front. Sure, you can lower it by cutting a coil off the front springs and removing a leaf in the rear, but a very bad idea as already stated.

Please... Cut the leaf springs. Let us know how it goes.
