I havent seen a place for introductions so Ill make my first thread an intro as well. I have an 08 2WD SCrew.Ibought it with the intentions of building my first street truck but I couldnt bring myself to lower it, I just love the look of a lifted truck. Ive built plenty Broncos for different offroading purposes, so I am familiar with TTB front ends and solid axle swaps and things but this is my first 2WD and not to mention the new front suspension.
So my first question is: Ive seen threads where guys have used the 2.5 AS n their 2WD and are running 35's. Im pretty sure 35" is as big as Im gonna go.........for now. What benefits would I gain by going with a full suspension lift?
Second: If I did go with a suspension lift I dont PLAN on going offroad, just want the look, but it might/will happen so I want a good soft suspension and I dont know jack about companies for these newer trucks. I prefer Deaver progressive rate springs to give an example of my preferred softness. I was looking at Fabtech for the front with maybe some Bilstein 5100 for shocks and Skyjacker softride springs in back (no blocks) but I want 35's with 20's. Can this be done with little to no rubbing and maintain a soft street ride. What are my best options to get my desired effect?

From what you posted, I'd suggest going with the 6 inch Fabtech lift and some 35's. If you don't, you will just regret it. A lot of people fit 35x12.50's on stock 4x4's by using the oem wheels and a leveling kit. However, this is a tight fit and they have minor rubbing, and their trucks sit about 2 inches taller than your 4x2 to begin with.
What do you guys like about Fabtech so much as opposed to other companies? Is it their quality components, outstanding warranties???? I dont know much about them except for their SAS kit for older Fords.
fabtech is a good quality kit for a good price thats why its so popular.
if your in katy, cutten customs shouldn't be to far from you. they cut pretty sweet deals.
i have a BDS, the reason i got it over pro comp was the warranty is the best warranty for a lift. not sure if they have a 2wd kit but its something worth looking into

Man I love BDS that was the first place I looked but, unfortunately I did not see a kit for 2wd.

So if we all agree Fabtech's 6" is the way to go I'll do that up front Bilsteins 51 series all around and Deaver 4" leaf packs in the back. That should do it.

What is FTW? I see that all the time and I can only think of one saying for it........
That wheel will fit with 35's, as long as it meets Fabtech's specs. Some lifts require certain backspacing. I can't remember if Fabtech does or not.

Fabtech recommends a 17X8 wheel with 5" of backspacing. The 9" wide wheel will make the tires & wheels stick out of the wheel wells. 6.18" backspacing and your wheels and tires won't even bolt up to the front.
