2" or 2.5" AS kit for LT305/65R-18?

New member here. I've been reading the forums for a while and it appears that the AutoSpring leveling kit seems to be the most popular. I am planning to run BFG AT/TA, LT305/65R-18/E2 124R on an 08 Screw FX4. I came from an 01 F250 so I am not that familiar with the ways of the F150. I would like your insight as to which leveling kit would be the most appropriate for this size of tire. Thanks in advance for your help.

I just bought an 08 Screw FX4 about 3 months ago and went with the 2". It leveled my truck perfectly. I'm on the middle of putting on 1 1.5" AAL in the rear though because even though the measurements equate to being leveled, my truck looks higher in the front to me. The 2" should give you enough clearance for the tires you're trying to use. I have 305/70/18's(35") on mine and I had to do a bit of trimming in the rear of the front wheel wells. If you're going to put an AAL on in the future then I would go with the 2.5" though just to give you a little more insurance. To be honest, your measurements probably aren't exactly the same as mine. Measure from the pavement to the top of the wheel well opening for each wheel (on a level surface) and see what the difference is. Make sure you post some pics when your done!

I have a 2.5", and I could easily fit those tires, I think my truck is pretty level with that kit. I have 275/65/18

Maybe it's just my distorted vision but your truck looks higher in the front to me. I'd be willing to bet that if you measured, the front would be higher than the back. If it's not, I need to get my eyes checked again!

I want to go bigger too but it's just not worth it to me at this point. In order to fit bigger tires on I'd have to go bigger than a 6" lift AND re-gear. The idea of spending 5-10 grand just doesn't appeal to me much right now. Specially because it would be closer to the $10k mark because I want to go 40's with like a 12" suspension lift + new wheels/tires + gears + install!+ driveshafts and whatever else I''m forgetting! DEFINITELY over the $10k mark! Thinking maybe in 5 years when I pay off my truck......maybe!

Mines 34" Terra grappler on 17 rims, i have 1.5" Autospring and its perfect for me.

1.5 or 2" might help reduce wear on balljoints and axleshaft angle too

YOMAN!

I have the 2.5" Autospring and those same exact tires that you want.
Fit's perfectly, and my truck sit's level, maybe just a tiny bit higher in rear still.

What year is your truck?

Seems like early '06 and previous trucks are perfectly level with the 2.5". My truck was built late in the '06 model year and it would, no doubt, be nose high with a 2.5".

My truck was also built in late 06, the last half of the year. And the 2.5" Autospring as you can see from my above picture level's it out nice, but still keeps the rear a slight bit higher. I don't really think you can go by what year, or part of the year a truck was built. There are people with 07's and 08's that have the 2.5" kit yet still sit a bit higher in the rear.

So it's either that not all trucks are created equal, or not all leveling kits are created equal. One or the other, or both...

2.5" for the 04-05s and 2" for the 06-08s seems to the rule of thumb.
