Questions about lift on a 2000

Howdy everyone, I'm new to this site and and have a few questions about lifting my truck. I'm still in high school so I don't too much money to go all out. I want a nice looking truck that will perform though. I'm looking at a Fabtech 6in. I have the torsion bars cranked on my truck. Will i have to lower them to keep the truck even or can i get larger blocks in the rear? And if i do get taller blocks and leave the bars cranked, can i fit 36s? If so will I have to regear? Also Have 16x8in wheels. Can I fit 12.50s or maybe 13.50s on these?

If these questions have been answered in an earlier post please excuse me and directed me to the thread. Thanks for any feedback

4x4 or 4x2? And if you're in high school and don't have a lot of money, you could consider a body lift. It would be cheaper and still look good IMO...

Its a 4x4. I have considered a body lift but i want to keep my grill guard and I cant think of a way to raise it and keep it functional. I do have enough money for a suspension lift and tires from a goat I sold at the FFA auction. just not a whole lot more lol

36" is pusing it on your stock gears probably.

I'd go with a 35x12.50 personally.

i would do the 6" and then un crank your torsion bars. run 35's. 36's will be pushing your gears like mikeswt said unless you have 4.10 gearing, then you could get away with it.

There will be a tag on your rear differential that will tell you what gears you have. It should say something like 3L55 or 3L73 meaning 3:55 or 3:73 gears L = limited slip. Other numbers on the tag will indicate things like the differential size, whether its an 8.8 or 9.75.

fabtech recommends a 35x12.50 with its lift, whether or not you choose to back down the preload on the torsion bars is entirely up to you...

I have a body lift and a brush gaurd on my 99. All it takes is some torching and rewelding the brackets that hold it on.

IMO you can easily clear 36's with a 6" Fabtech and your torsion bars cranked (nothing wider than 12.5 though)

I have a 3" Body Lift and 36's i cut the hell out of my bumper and they fit fine im on stock 3:55ls gears and the 4.2L V6 and it still moves ok. I wouldnt recommend going this route.

if he were to crank the bars all the way, he probably could clear a 37x 12.50 with a fabtech, but i would go either with a 35x12.50 or a 36x12.50 at the most.

How long have you had the 36s on? No torn up gears? IDK what kind of grill guard you have or how it bolts on but my ranch hand bolts to the bottom of the frame where the tow hooks go and i use the hell out of it so i dont want to weaken it at all

The 36's have been on for awhile and you can ask Minimonster17 he's seen my truck and offroaded with me. Its a mean truck even on stock gears.

The brackets on my BG attach to the sides of the frame then run up. Id be hesitant in cutting that expensive Ranch Hand bumper.

I plan on buying a RH or Road Armour Bumper and having them build it with the 3" Body lift taken into account.... I know Road Armor does this. I can get you a picture of my truck if you would like

trimble's truck is mean, and sits quite high for a body lift. clearing 36x12.50's on a body lift will require full torsion bar cranking, and extensive cutting of the valance, as trimble has done to his truck...
