Arrow Body Lift Concerns/ Questions

Ok, So i have a AS 2.5" Leveling kit, I was planning on putting a Fabtech Kit on but I don't want to spend that kind of money with a side project car. I don't do much off roading so I thought of a body lift.

1. Will the body lift put stress on any parts on the truck and/or do i have to relocate anything like my hitch or tow hooks?
2. Im thinking about getting the PA 3", Does everything come with the kit or do I have to buy any more parts for the truck.
3. Do I need gap guards?
4. How much of a PITA is it to put on? Any tips on the install? Looking to do it at home in my driveway.

Also going to get some 35"s on 20s. Anyone have a nice (visually and performance) mud tire?

1.) Some may dispute this, but the only way a body lift will put overstrain your truck is if you plan on jumping it offroad. I have seen suspension lifts fail too when jumped offroad... I offroad pretty hard, and have not had a problem with the body lift failing on my truck.

A bunch of sh*t has to be relocated, ie, grounds, trans cooler lines have to be bent at different angles, safety straps have to have their holes redrilled in a different spot on the frame, etc. The only big deal is the tow hooks. You may have to trim the valance for them to fit. Personally, I prefer the looks/functionality of the exposed hooks, but some do not. You do not have to do anything to the hitch, unless you want to hide it, as it will probably be entirely visible.

2.) The kit comes with everything you need. The gap guards are optional, and cost extra.

3.) No, but they will hide the 3'' gap you'll have between the bed/frame, and close off the front fenderwells, and protect the engine from getting sh*t into it offroad.

4.) Install is a PITA. You'll need a full array of sockets, extensions, swivels, ratchets, combination wrenches, etc. You need 1/4'', 3/8'', and 1/2'' drive in standard and metric. You'll also need a breaker bar, drill, large channel locks, tap/die kit, sawzall, grinder, etc. Expect to fight the body bolts every turn out. Not only do you have to replace the body bolts, and add the spacer blocks, you have to replace all the body bushings as well, unlike the 97-03 model, hence the increased difficulty in install.

I think you can do it with a buddy or two over a weekend. Just read the instructions, and know what you are getting into. FWIW, I personally regret going with a body lift, and not going with a suspension lift... Remember, you're only picking the body up to clear oversize tires. The engine, transmission, transfer case, frame rails, etc will not be lifted. The only small lift they will get is from being held up slightly higher by the bigger tires.
